Overview

National Workwear offers a wide variety of brand name work apparel and footwear at affordable prices. Our customers include individuals, small businesses, and large corporations across a number of industries. They also include various government agencies and institutions. National Workwear is owned by Alan and Stephanie Brock and is based in beautiful Lexington, Kentucky—known as “The Horse Capital of the World” (yes, we have even helped to outfit some horse farm workers).

Our products are distributed through multiple channels. Customers in central Kentucky can see our products in person by visiting our retail stores in Lexington, Louisville and Richmond. Of course, through our website and catalog customers can get our products almost wherever they happen to be across our country.

National Workwear also offers a number of services to make it easier for customers to get the products they need, and get them just the way they want. One service is our on-site mobile shoe service . Another is our apparel customization services. These include in-house embroidery, screenprinting and heatpress. National Workwear even offers complete uniform and shoe programs to help our business customers administer and outfit their employees.

History

National Workwear has a long history with humble beginnings. It began in the 1940’s as a shoe repair shop. So, naturally it led to selling shoes too. At first, it was selling shoes out of a corner of the store. Eventually, it became a western wear store, and this was followed up with the purchase of a family shoe store. The focus then was to become the largest retailer in the area for work shoes by offering the biggest selection of brands, styles and sizes.

Over the next few years National Workwear expanded its product offerings and services. Various workwear were added along with outerwear, uniforms and accessories. To go with the apparel, embroidery services were also added. In the 1990’s our mobile shoe service began, and it became an immediate hit. Then, to reach more customers, more store locations were opened, and in 1998, our website was launched.

Looking back, National Workwear has undergone many changes. And more will come as National Workwear continues to offer the latest products and to improve our services.
